This book is an easy read and is written at a level that can be apprehended by a junior high student. It provides some of the most basic and essential arguments for the Christian faith. This book is a great resource for those just beginning in apologetics.

Tactics by Greg Koukl

A must read for every Christian. Koukl’s book is designed to teach you tactics on managing difficult conversations. This book does not go through a bunch of facts like most apologetic books. Rather, it helps you learn how to think and what questions to ask others in conversations. Learning these tactics will give you confidence in your conversations with others. Make sure you get the 10th anniversary edition of this book. It has the red circle at the top as you see in the picture.

I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist by Frank Turek

This book is written for the average Christian. It is a great introductory to a wide variety of topics, including origin of the universe, origin of life, evolution, morality, the problem of evil, miracles, the reliability of Scripture, the Resurrection of Jesus, and the historical Jesus. Dr. Turek does his best to take complex topics and make them simple. He also attempts to help you remember what you learn by providing acronyms.

A Rebel’s Manifesto by Sean McDowell

Dr. Sean McDowell takes you through some of the most important topics facing our culture today. He helps the reader understand how to think biblically on each topic he covers. He also offers action steps at the end of each chapter so that you can apply what you have just read. This book is written for those in high school and college. However, I think every person can benefit from it, no matter the age. I highly recommend this book.

Is God a Moral Monster? by Paul Copan

In this book, Paul Copan addresses many questions about the God of the Old Testament. He goes in depth on laws that were given to Israel and many of the common issues raised against the Old Testament by skeptics. This book helps the reader gain a clearer understanding of what was going on under the Old Covenant.

The Forgotten Trinity by James White

James White is one of the leading apologists of the modern time. In this book, he covers the difficult topic of the Trinity. He does a good job of explaining the Trinity to a lay audience. This book does cover some Greek. However, Dr. White does his best to explain it for the lay level. I highly recommend this book.

Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis

C. S. Lewis is one of the greatest Christian thinkers of the modern era. In Mere Christianity, he covers a wide variety of topics ranging from marriage to morality to the Trinity. Lewis provides some great insights regarding the Christian faith.

Stealing from God by Frank Turek

A great resource for learning some basics in presuppositional apologetics. Dr. Turek covers science, morality, evil, and more. In this book, he shows that without God, you cannot account for science, reason, evil, and morality. Dr. Turek shows how the essentials of life, from philosophy to science, require the existence of God. This book will equip you with some great resources that can be used in any conversation.

The Case for Miracles by Lee Strobel

In this book, Lee Strobel addresses arguments from skeptics regarding miracles. He interviews some of the top experts on both sides of the issue. Overall, Strobel makes a strong case for why we have good reason to believe that miracles are not only possible, but do actually occur.

The Ultimate Proof of Creation by Jason Lisle

This book is a presuppositional book. Dr. Lisle does his best to take some difficult topics and simplify them for the average reader. The topics that he covers can be difficult. Yet, if one is willing to put in the work, this book is a great resource for learning how to think. He helps the reader recognize false assumptions that undergird many non-Christian beliefs. This book is a good primer on the study of logic and reason.
